I am a Principal Lecturer in the Learning and Teaching Development team, with more than 25 years' experience teaching in a variety of contexts, including prison education, university, and foundation programmes, principally in New Zealand, France, and the UK. I originally qualified as a secondary school teacher (of Modern Languages), before moving into Higher Education, which took me from the UK to France for around 7 years, before I moved to New Zealand in 2007.

I am particularly interested in teacher development, and also enjoy seeing how educational technology can enhance the learning experience of different students, while opening many teachers' eyes to new opportunities. Away from work, I enjoy music, cinema, and spending time with my dog, Indiana Bones.

In recent years, I have completed my Doctorate in Professional Practice, an MA (Applied Linguistics), and a Postgraduate Diploma in Education (e-learning). I have full registration with the NZ Teacher's Council, and was awarded Senior Fellowship with the Higher Education Academy in June 2018.
